Assessment has become increasingly important in counselling, and counsellors typically use a variety of assessment methods to work on their clients. 1a) Discuss and elaborate FIVE (5) reasons why it is important for counsellors to know about assessment. 1b) For each reason stated in 1a, describe a case scenario to demonstrate how the client can be affected (either positively or negatively).

5. Able to work in a multi-disciplinary team (Able to work in a multi-disciplinary team (the public expects that counselors understand assessment and are able to interpret assessment results. Both mental health and school counselors work with other professionals in multidisciplinary teams where other team members (e.g., psychologists) will quickly lose respect for a counselor who has limited knowledge of psychometric principles and common assessment instruments.)
