Problem

Case: Mr. J.G. is a 68-year-old Hispanic male who was admitted 12 hours ago to the CNM rehabilitation facility. He is a retired business analyst. Health care provider: George Abeyta M.D. Insurance: Medicare Allergy: Penicillin. History of Current Illness: Mr. J.G. was seen in the local diabetic clinic two weeks ago for a nontender open wound on the plantar surface near the left 1st metatarsal joint. The wound was draining "white stuff that smelled really bad" and had been open for a few weeks. Mr. J.G. was admitted to the hospital with a diagnosis of sepsis secondary to acute diabetic foot infection. The big toe and 2nd toe on his left foot were amputated. J.G. was discharged from the hospital today and transferred to the CNM rehabilitation center for ambulation therapy and ongoing wound care.
