In muscle phosphorylase, binding of ATP makes the protein tendto be in the T state, while binding of AMP makes the protein tendto be in the R state.

Why isn't it the other way around? Why doesn'tAMP shift the protein to the T state, and ATP shift the protein tothe R state?
