In this activity you have the opportunity to apply your understanding of microbial growth control. Compose a response to the following question incorporating the knowledge you've gained from your readings and then post to the discussion. Please respond thoughtfully and in your own words, being sure to back up each statement with cited sources.

• Why do you think that some species/strains of bacteria are resistant to disinfectants? In your post, refer to the structural features we learned about in Module One and the mechanism of action of disinfectants that we have learned about in the current module. Some potential organisms to focus on in your discussion areMycobacterium, Pseudomonas or Bacillus.
