Problem: Commodities & Social Capital
What is social capital? to Fortune magazine, you are part of the most materialistic generation alive by over 10% of generations older than you. Let's see how this plays out in real life:
Keep track of your purchase and/or use of commodities (remember: commodities are things that can be bought or sold).
At the same time, keep track of things you did that improved your social capital (remember: these cost you nothing unless you donate) in one of the following categories.
Write a about how this balance played out.
I. Provide specifics (a list would be preferable). Are you living a more materialistic life or spending most of your time building up your social capital? Are you surprised by the results? Get the instant assignment help.
II. Why do you think Gen Z is more materialistic? Do you agree with the article about the fear of growing up in an unstable time period (for example, politically, economically, climatologically)?
III. Are there things you want to change or feel like you're missing? Do you feel like it's harder to build social capital now than when you were in High School or back in your hometown? Why or why not?
IV. How do you think you'll try to build social capital in the future? Ultimately, decide whether buying your experiences is worth the cost of a life lived well.
