Case Study:Bill Wacera
Bill Wacera is a 48-year-old male. He owns his own auto parts business. He says he thinks he has insomnia because he has trouble sleeping and is tired all day. He recently went to a sleep clinic but they did not think he had sleep apnea or other breathing problems. When asked more about his sleep patterns he said that for the last month he awakens at night gasping for breath, sweating, and shaking. He said it feels like "I could be dying." He also shared that he had felt this way before when awake. Bill remembers having "episodes" like this around the time he started college at age 18. He dropped out of college at the end of his freshman year, in part because he was afraid to go class because someone might see him sweating and shaking. He hated getting up in front of people feeling like somehow they could sense something was awry.
