Understanding Art: Do Ho Suh
Today we're going to look at an artist, Do Ho Suh, who integrates sculpture and architecture for interactive installations. We're watching two videos, links listed below, to be better informed by him, but first we'll just look at his work and discuss our thoughts
1) First, look at the pieces shown above. Consider what materials they are made from, and write down your first impressions on the works. Do you like them? Do you prefer one over the other? Why or why not? How much hand work do you think he put into the pieces? What do you think he is trying to convey with his work? Don't worry about being wrong. This is more about your guesses and first perception.
2) Next, watch the videos about both his personal life and both works of art.
