Problem: The Civil Rights Movement Essay

We have studied two movements: The Civil Rights Movement and New Left Student Movement. Pick one movement and evaluate it based on the ten questions we have discussed in class. Choose three questions and discuss in a two-page essay how these movements were or were not movements. Be sure to limit your sources to the ones in the book and cite at least one or more of the readings from Takin' It to the Streets.

Essay Outline

Question A. Introduction with a thesis statement at the end of your introduction that lists 3 points you will discuss in your paper.

Question B. Body paragraphs with a topic sentence at the beginning of each paragraph. The topic sentence should be directly connected to your thesis statement. The paragraphs should engage the text and support the topic sentences.

Question C. Conclusion which summarizes your main points and contains your closing argument.
