When grading on curve

Question

When grading on a curve, if a student scores too high or too low, this creates a problem for the curve's bell. The curve then gets unequally distributed, and only so many students can fall into the "A" group and the remaining groups. Grading on a curve does not allow students who are good at school to excel and usually would because this allows a certain number of "A" letter grades and no matter how many high scores are achieved (Calsamiglia & Loviglio, 2019). If the class has a total number of scores lower, the curve is in the class's best interest.

Do you agree or disagree with this comment? Do you have experience with a class that was graded on a curve?
