The Four Agreements Essay

Reflect back on The Four Agreements from your textbook in Chapter 7, Table 7.1. In APA format answer ALL the questions presented by the four agreements below. Make sure to use specific personal experiences from either your home or work life.

Remember that an essay has and introduction, a closing, and well develop paragraphs. Two (2) references are required to be used in the body of the paper and documented on the APA reference page. Proofread all work. There is a rubric located at the bottom of your assignment for Module 2 for you to review and follow.

Ruiz Four Agreements

1st: Be impeccable with your word.
2nd: Don't take anything personally.
3rd: Don't make assumptions.
4th: Always do your best.

1st Agreement: Think of a situation where someone promised to do something and then did not follow through. Recall how you felt and how your view of that person might have changed. Did you pursue a discussion about the lack of follow through? If so, do you recall what the response was and how that affected your thinking about the person?

2nd Agreement: Recall a situation when you believed your ideas or you yourself were being attacked by someone's statements. What was your reaction? What would your reaction be if you said to yourself: "That statement is that person's response? I wonder what made them feel that way?"

3rd Agreement: Consider again a time when you were interacting with someone and something they said made you feel uncomfortable, distressed, or angry. Did you seek clarification? If so, what did you say or ask? If you did not, what could you ask that would facilitate an honest response rather than defensive response?

4th Agreement: Think of a situation in which everything did not go as planned. Could you say that despite the situation, you did your best? If not, what would have helped you say you did your best?
