Question: 1. Apply the following framework (on the next page) on three companies of your choice which are operating in the same industry/industries and produce a table that shows a company's competitive strength scores. Make sure that you accompany your table with a two-three pages write-ups. In the write-up, you need to use some data to support your conclusions. For example, financial resources (assuming its importance weight is >.10 if it's a company in the financial services industry, say a bank) so you need to estimate the weight rationally first based upon the selected industry and then you will have to collect data from the company's financial statements and calculate some key financial ratios (provided to you in the book, how to calculate them, what they mean, what they show) to support the score you have given to the company in that aspect and so on. After you finish comparing all aspects as accurately as possible, you will present an executive report showing what you have done, what were your methods and sources, what the conclusions were, and what are your recommendations as a strategist.
