Required response from Prompt 1: Choose A or B

A recent concern involving technology is the recent Facebook data privacy controversy where it was revealed that Facebook was collecting information about its user's activity on Facebook, as well as other sites.

Its reported that Facebook was in the process of collecting anonymized data from major U.S. hospitals, in order to match the data with that of social media users' data when the project had to be canceled (Facebook sent a doctor on a secret mission to ask hospitals to share patient data).

The purpose of this was to seek special care or treatments that certain patients might need. Do you think this was an appropriate strategy to help improve people's health? What potential issues, if any, do you think would arise if the project had not been stopped?

o What are the advantages and disadvantages to use of genetically modified crops, as discussed in the text?

o Why do you think some countries (like the U.S.) have relied more on these genetically modified crops than other countries?

o What were the ethical concerns raised regarding human cloning?

o How is this different from cloning other things, like pets?

o Do you think this will be become a more widespread practice in the future, and what may be the implications if it does?
