Go to the St. Louis Federal Reserve Web site, at www.stlouisfed.org, and go to "Research & Data" and then "Economic Data-FRED®." Find "Reserves and Monetary Base." Select "Monetary Base" and then the "Board of Governors Monetary Base" (not adjusted for changes in reserve requirements).

Graph both the total monetary base and the rate of change of the monetary base for the years 1959 to 2010. Also answer the following questions:
