What they have done negatively and what the study missing and how it can improve and any suggestion to help both of Sam and Ellie doing better performance?

Sam and Ellie have set a goal for Sam to beat his current PB at the next Nationals program in 3 months' time. Sam has a couple of smaller competitions between now and the Nationals program so they will track his progress to determine whether he is on track to meet his goal. After a poor performance, Sam and Ellie reflect upon Sam's skills. They are mostly concerned that his height might be an issue in the half pipe competition as it is likely affecting his ability to maneuver quickly and seamlessly through his jumps. Sometimes they will look at his performances and determine that his effort in the lead up to, and focus during, competition is not enough to achieve the results he is after. Ellie suggests that he could try to use cue words to help him focus. She suggests that he uses the phrase, "I am light as a feather" before he begins his run to help him focus. Ellie has instructed Sam to use imagery at the top of his run. Sam usually gets very anxious before the race so Ellie has told him to leave that part out of his imagery script. She has asked him to image the entire run, including all the jumps and tricks. It usually takes Sam about 1 minute to get through a run, but he doesn't have that much time at the start so she has suggested he run through it in about 30 seconds. Ellie suggests that Sam should use an external perspective when he images and has suggested that once he is happy with his imagery script, he should not change or alter it in any way.
