Media is everywhere nowadays. It is on your phone, your television, your computer, and yes, even your newspaper. Media can impact a person's opinion and choices very efficiently, and food marketers use that to their advantage to sell products. Picture how social media is towards teenagers and how interconnected the internet really is and apply that to their eating habits. Some companies can target specific ages, such as toddlers and adolescents. (Boyle, 2016). Examples are when a company wants to sell caffeinated drinks or even advertise candy like chocolate. Robert and Bob's program to improve health-related literacy can positively impact nutrition by teaching individuals the importance of eating healthier food options and learning about the long-term effects of eating unhealthy foods that are advertised in the media.

Additionally, the discussion mentioned that the target audience was teenagers, and over 50% of teenage girls and about 33% of teenage boys experience an eating disorder to lose weight (2022). This can change the person's view of themselves and the world, thinking more negatively.

Perspective is an essential key that can provide a different view on making healthier choices. (Zaske,2020). For example, it can shift the thought of a person from never eating junk food, never again, to learning how to portion control and still eating it once and a while.

Even so, a person can make a healthy relationship with what they are eating and can further educate others who are struggling with it as well. Therefore, media literacy would positively impact a person's nutrition.
