Your coursework and fieldwork in the Educational Leadership Program at Brooklyn College are aligned to the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (PSEL). The focus of this is to provide you with an opportunity to further unpack the standards, reflect on current practices in relation to the standards, and develop a fieldwork plan moving forward.

I. Read all 10 standards and determine each standard's essence/gist (the key concepts are within the standard and then detailed through the elements - make sure you read both!). Analyze and synthesize each standard and its elements, and then write a three or four sentence explanation of the overall essence/gist of each standard in words.

II. After determining the gist for each standard, critically reflect on how the standards connect to current practice and experiences: What standards do you have (or had) a lot of practical experience with?
