Sociological Application - Case Study:
The purpose of the sociological application is to demonstrate analytical, problem solving and communication skills and the practical application of sociological concepts to your topic of interest. My goals are to (i) facilitate your sociological knowledge and application of concepts and (ii) prepare you for employment by developing/refining your career interests and document skills desired by employers. The goal is that you can describe your application to potential employers to demonstrate your analytical skills and application of knowledge.
Overview:
Your Sociological Application is to analyze a phenomena or "case", by applying sociological concepts to identify (i) relevant factors in the case, (ii) implications for the understanding the case, and (iii) possible strategies to address needs and/or make enhancements illuminated in the case. In addition, your information will be presented in a manner that is most appropriate and useful for your intended audience.
Within your project application, you will (i) describe the case/phenomena you are considering from a sociological perspective, (ii) apply at least three sociologicalconcepts to help us see the situation from a sociological perspective, and (iii) recommend strategies to address needs illuminated in analysis. The format of the information should be catered to your intended audience. You are required to use and reference at least five scholarly articles.

What is a case study?
A case study is a person, place, event, phenomenon, or organization that is the subject of analysis that provides useful insights and understanding may have been invisible or unseen.
Your case to study must address at least one of the following considerations:
1. Does the case represent an unusual or atypical example of a research problem that requires more in-depth analysis?
2. Does the case provide important insight or illuminate a previously hidden problem?
3. Does the case challenge and offer a counter-point to prevailing assumptions?
