In the plant Arabidoposis thaliana, a geneticist is interested in the development of trichomes (small projections) on the leaves. A large screen turns up two mutant plants (A and B) that have no trichomes, and these mutants seem to be potentially useful in studying trichome development. (If they are determined by single-gene mutations, then finding the normal and abnormal function of these genes will be instructive.) Each plant was crossed with wild type; in both cases, the next generation (F1) had normal trichomes. When the F1 plants were selfed, the resuling F2's were as follows:
F2 from mutant A: 602 normal; 198 no trichomesF2 from mutant B: 267 normal; 93 no trichomes
a.) what do these results show? Include proposed genotyes of all plants in your answer.
b.) Assume that the genes are located on separate chromosomes. An F1 is produces by crossing the original mutant A with the original mutant B. This F1 is testcrossed: What propotion of testcross progeny will have no trichomes?
After insolating different species of bacteria, you see two distinct types of colonies. One has a medium-sized shimy colonies that are mucoid with entire margins, convex elevation and a whitish traslucent appearance.

The analysis of enzymes in blood plasma has played a significant role in the diagnosis of many diseases. Two of these serum enzymes are Lactate Dehydrogenase and Creatine Kinase.
Assume you are creating a solution and the recipe calls for 25 ml of 10 percent glucose. How much of the 3M glucose stock would your need to add to so that you are adding the same molar amount of glucose?
Why is important to get a bacterial lawn rather than isolated colonies on the plate? Does the zone of inhibition's edge indicate the limit of antibacterial agent diffusion into the agar?
You have discovered a new species of bacteria. You are able to transfer F factor to the chromosome of this bacteria in two strains (2 different insertions). Both of these strains are a+, b+, c-, d+, e-. An F- strain is a-, b-, c+, d-, e+. You look..
A molecular level description means that you must explain the structure of water and how that structure leads to the observation made- in this case that water beads on waxes.
Discuss the events that take place with glucose levels and insulin secretion both after and meal and during exercise. Why might low blood sugar levels occur?
A gel electrophoresis of PCR products was ran to test for the presence of genetic modification. The samples were a positive control, a negative control, 5 different fruits, and a control DNA. What is the purpose of the pre-extracted control DNA?
