The effects of early feeding experiences on later food preferences were studied in guinea pigs. The animals were grouped five per cage, and each of the three groups was fed only one type of food-A, B, or C-for three weeks. Then they were tested individually to determine their food preference in a cafeteria-style situation, with all three foods present.
