Question  A)Outline how you adjusted levels of supervision in relation to the following factors:

- play area (consider visability of children)
- skill (consider the skill level of children)
- age mix (consider when mixed ages are in one area)

- dynamics (consider personalities or children or children with additional needs)
- size of the group (consider supervision with small vs large group)
- level of risk involved (for example water play)
- exchanged information with colleagues. (for example gaining additional information from colleagues about individual children who need support or direction)

Example: Play area - High level of hands-on supervision was always required during the water play activity. This activity was conducted in a shaded area to protect children from overexposure to UV radiation from the sun. The space selected did provide for maximum supervision of children during the experiment.

Question b)Give one example of an occasion when a child in your care was unwell. Then, respond to the following points about this situation:

- How did you liaise with the family whose child was unwell and had to be excluded from the centre/service? Outline the situation and action taken.

- How did you know the child was unwell?
