Purpose

In each case study, you will complete multiple parts; some case studies have two parts and some have three. Specific instructions are outlined in each case study below.

Review the website below and respond to the questions. Your response should be a minimum of 200 words, but may not exceed 350 words.

You are applying for the job of sales associate. You have just found out that you will be given a personality assessment as part of the application process. You feel that this job requires someone who is very high in extraversion and who can handle stress well. You are relatively sociable and can cope with some stress, but honestly you are not very high in either trait. The job pays well, and it is a great stepping-stone to better jobs. How are you going to respond when completing the personality questions? Are you going to make an effort to represent yourself as you truly are? If so, there is a chance that you may not get the job. How about answering the questions to fit the salesperson profile? Isn't everyone doing this to some extent anyway?

1. Refer to any of the content theories to predict which need is being threatened for the 30 percent remaining managers on the job. Which need is being indirectly threatened for the non-managerial employees?

2. What kind of inequity do employees experience when HR department recruitment, selection, and promotion processes are perceived as being biased? Explain.

3. What level of expectancy can be predicted for the remaining 30 percent supervisors?
