FINAL PAPER REQUIREMENTS
Paper should be typed (using no large fonts, e. g., Chicago), double-spaced and with a minimum margin of .75" on all sides.
Cite your sources with a recognized format that you are comfortable, but do not make one up. Do not just submit a reference page, or your paper will not be graded. Cite within your paper. Only two Internet sites may be used.
Plagiarism will result in at least a failure of the project and may include failure of the class. Please refer to your Student Handbook for definitions and further penalties. If you have any questions, please consult the instructor.
This is a 200 level class, so the sophistication of your paper should reflect this level. Take an issue, related to political geography, from your reading or the news sources, which resonates with you. This paper will be an analysis of the topic and provide the reader with information to make a more informed opinion.
Paper - Part I:
Structure your paper in an easy to read format with headings like this, (remember you are trying to influence the reader):
Take your world geographic issue, state the basic points, and give a brief history of it, as well as describe it as an assignment that may be given to you (e. g., which it was, from your supervisor).
Use the elements from the chapters that you previously wrote about and incorporate them into the paper.
Then examine what other opinions you may find - compare and contrast these. What about the case history influenced these and perhaps other opinions?
What is your opinion on the issue? Please back it up.
Use multiple sources that reflect your opinion and illustrate the point of your paper. Integrate information from other classes into you paper. If you take everything from the Internet, your paper will wind up being one dimensional and lacking in life.

Length: if 10-15 pages and you need to carefully choose your words and be concise. Any longer you may lose the reader.
