1) Say someone gets shot in the head with a .22 caliber bullet. This bullet has a mass of 2.5 g and was traveling at 380 m/s before impact. The bullet lodges in the forehead of the victim and comes to a rest. If the victim's head has a mass of 5 kg and was at rest before impact, what is the stress on the cervical vertebra (worth 3 points)? Assume that the distance traveled by the bullet and head after impact is 5 cm, the bullet experiences constant acceleration as it slows down, that the victim's body does not get accelerated, and that the area of the cervical vertebra is 1 cm2.
