An airplane pilot wishes to fly directly westward. According to the weather bureau, a wind of 70.0 km/h is blowing toward the south. If the speed of the plane relative to the air (called the "air speed") is measured by instruments in the plane to be 300 km/h , in which direction should the pilot head? What is the speed of the plane over the ground (called the "ground speed")?
