Tamika is a 60-year-old African American female married to 64-year-old Dewayne. They have been married for 41 years and have 4 children, all of whom are grown and are on their own but remain close to both parents. Tamika is a housewife and is usually very active in their church. Both have been active in this church since childhood. Dewayne is a manager at a local hardware store.

Tamika is brought to the clinic today by her husband as he is worried about her and fears for her safety. Over the past few years, Tamika has become forgetful, but their family and friends attributed it to the aging process and thought nothing of it. In the past year, Dewayne has noticed more serious issues such as leaving the stove on or forgetting to unplug the iron. In the past month, Dewayne reports that Tamika has become confused in the late afternoon and early evening. One night Tamika left the house in the middle of the night, and Dewayne found her wandering down the street.
