Here is the problem which I am struggling on, please help me!
Problem: The brake system on the San Francisco cable car uses a wedge pushed into the cable slot. If the apex angle of the wedge is 10, how much larger is the braking force compared with simply pushing a flat block onto the ground with same force F; that is, what is the mechanical advantage of the wedge as a braking machine?
