A massive pulley in the shape of a solid disk is mounted on an axle with negligible friction. A massless string hangs over the pulley with one end attached to block 1 with mass m1 = 270 g and the other end attached to block 2 with mass m2 = 360 g. The radius of the pulley is R = 5.0 cm. When block 2 is released from rest, it falls 1.25 m in 1.4 s.

a) What is the magnitude of the constant acceleration of the blocks?

b) What is the tension T1 in the left half of the string?

c) What is the tension T2 in the right half of the string?

d) What is the magnitude and direction of the angular acceleration of the pulley? Indicate the direction with the sign. The positive direction is counter-clockwise.

e) What is the mass of the pulley?
