In the circuit below, a 2.00 µF capacitor is connected to a two-way switch. If the switch is in position a, the capacitor is connected to a 12.0 V battery and a resistor R1 = 300 Ω. If the switch is in position b, the capacitor is connected to a second resistor R2 = 200 Ω. The capacitor is initially uncharged, the switch is thrown to position a until the it is fully charged, then the switch is thrown to position b.

(a) How long after the switch is thrown to position a will the capacitor have 30% of the total charge it will store on it?

(b) What is the potential drop across R1 at this time?

(c) How much longer after the switch is thrown to position b will 30% of the charge on the capacitor have bled off?

(d) What is the instantaneous power dissipated through R2 at that time?
