Problem

1. A research team suspects that daily consumption of green tea in a capsule form may improve weight loss in an obese population. The team recruited 200 obese participants (BMI greater that 30) who were told that they should all consume a specified diet containing 2000 Kcal a day with 50% of their daily energy intake coming from carbohydrates. They then split the participants into two groups. The experimental group were required to consume 2 capsules of green tea daily whilst the control group were asked to consume 2 placebo capsules daily. Body mass was measured in kilograms at the end of the trial.
