A syringe is set up filled with air (mainly N2and O2) as shown in the diagram below. The cross-sectional area of the cylindrical syringe is 19.0 cm2. The initial pressure inside the syringe is Pi= 113 kPa and the height of the plunger above the bottom ishi= 27.4 cm. The syringe is made of a thin, transparent plastic. Give your answers to all parts of this question to three significant figures.
a) The syringe is compressed very quickly when the 5.00kg mass is placed on it. You take a photo of the syringe immediately after this takes place. What is the new height of the syringe?
b) After placing the 5.00 kg mass onto the syringe you wait for the syringe to return to thermal equilibrium with the surrounding laboratory. What is the height of the syringe now?
A sphere of radius R is uniformly charged to a total charge of Q. It is made to spin about an axis that passes through its center with an angular speed ω. Find the magnitude of the resulting magnetic field at the center of the sphere.
A resistor is in the shape of a cube, with each side of resistance R . Find the equivalent resistance between any two of its adjacent corners.
