A bottle of saline solution (with a specific gravity of 1.02) is attached to a 1.2 m long piece of tubing with a 1.0 cm inner diameter. If the tubing is held vertically, filled with saline, and clamped at the bottom, (a) what is the gauge pressure at the bottom of the tube and (b) what would be the initial efflux velocity of the saline if the clamp were released? (Take the height of the saline solution in the bottle to be 10 cm).
