Electric dipoles enter a region of a constant electric field, Electric Field = Ey(hat) (constant magnitude=E, direction is positive, i.e. up), and length along the x-direction, L. The initial velocity of the electric dipole is v = v0x(hat) (speed is v0, direction is to the right). Notice that the initial velocity is perpendicular to the electric field.

a) How much time does the dipole spend in the field region?

b) Which direction will the dipole deflect?

c) What is the magnitude of the deflection from the entry line?

d) What is the final velocity of the dipole? Note: there will be a final x-component of velocity and a final y-component of velocity. Hint: Since the electric field is perpendicular to the initial velocity, the final x-component of the velocity is the same as the initial x-component of the velocity.
