The gas in a cylindrical container has a pressure of 1.0 multiply.gif 105 Pa and is at room temperature (293 K). A piston (a movable wall) at one end of the container is then adjusted so that the volume is reduced by a factor of eight, and it is found that the pressure increases by a factor of six. What is the final temperature of the gas?
