You are designing a PCS base station that operates at 1800 MHz. The receiver is co-located on a tower with UHF police and business radio systems that operate at 450 MHz. Since the the 4th harmonic from the UHF system is directly in the PCS band, you are concerned that UHF transmissions may overload your receiver and produce undesirable responses. You decide to build a high-pass filter to reduce the interfering signal energy.
Using the design techniques described in Pozar or other filter design techniques, design a high-pass filter with no more than 2 dB attenuation at 1500 MHz and at least 45 dB attenuation at 500 MHz. Use the lowest filter order possible to attain this performance. Assume that the receiver input impedance is 50 ohms and specify the inductance and capacitance values needed for this filter.
Extra credit: what is the filter attenuation at 1800 MHz?
Sketch the Bode plot (closed-loop gain vs. frequency, and closed-loop phase vs. frequency) of the amplifier. Label the gains at 0.1*f3dB, f3dB, and 10*f3dB using dB-scale. Also indicate the values of the phases at these frequencies.
Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) numerical method to develop for me a software program that simulates - evaluates Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) Distribution in a Human Head Near a Mobile Cellular Phone as a student project.
Design a full-wave bridge rectifier to deliver 12DC with less than 0.1V ripples into a load drawing 100mA. Specify any components as well as the input AC voltage required. Assume 0.6V diode drops.
Note that after a collision, the expected numbers are slightly different in two systems, but the difference is unimportant since collisions are rare.
What RF bandwidth is required to send the data using QPSK? If the RRC filters in the transmitter and receiver are replaced with ones that have ? = 0.20, what are the new RF bandwidths in parts (a) and (b)?
A microwave system requires a +4-dBm audio level to provide 100% modulation. Determine the voltage level required if this is a 600 ohm audio system.
In 1988, the average wage rate was $9.45 an hour and in 2008 the average wage rate was $18.00 an hour. The CPI in 1988 was 118.3 and in 2008 it was 215.3 . Which real wage rate is higher?
"Divide by 3 clock with 50% duty cycle" is the most commonly asked ASIC design question. This solution gives a simple design in which only 1 counter is required which works only on positive edge of the clock.
An electrical energy source forces a constant current of 500(mA) through a light bulb for one hour. If 12.6(kJ) is given off in the form of light and heat energy, calculate the voltage drop across the bulb.Use Engineering Notation with 3 decimal p..
Sketch the DFT(discrete fourier transform)for a square wave with frequency 1Hz and 10 Hz given N=64 and SR(sample rate)=128. Make sure to label your axes.
Hand calculate the expression for the voltage and current of the capacitor and plot these equations by using MATLAB and calculate the time constants of each circuit and point out this time constants at your voltage graphs.
our senior design team is designing a force sensor to measure a force signal and analyze the signal with a microcomputer (binary system). The analog force signal is between 10 N and 70 N and has the frequency bandwidth of DC - 1000 Hz.
