Loudspeaker of mass 25.0kg is suspended a distance of h = 2.40m below the ceiling by two cables that make equal angles with the ceiling. Each cable has a length of l = 3.70m. What is tension T in each of the cables?

Use 9.80m/s2 for magnitude of the acceleration due to gravity.


The drawing shows a large cube (mass = 46 kg) being accelerated across a horizontal frictionless surface by horizontal force vector P. A small cube (mass = 2.5 kg) is in write to with the front surface of large cube and will slide downward unless vector P is sufficiently large. The coefficient of static friction between cubes is 0.71. What is the smallest magnitude that vector P can have in order to keep small cube from sliding downward?
