In our daily lives, we are inundated with advertisements for the next best supplement or gadget for a "healthy" lifestyle. Many of these new products claim to be backed by "science." In this activity, research the principles of pseudoscience, pick a new "health" product from the list, research and discuss if there is any scientific or clinical evidence to support the manufacturer's claims. You may choose a product from the list or find one of your own to research. All sources should be APA format

Reishi powder/supplement, Sweat enhancing creams for your workout, Detox teas, Coffee enemas, Oxygen shots, Raw water, Cryotherapy.

1. What is pseudoscience? Describe ways that you can identify that a manufacturer is using pseudoscience to back their product's "scientific claims."

2. Discuss the product that you picked. Describe what it is, and a summary of how it is used. What claims does the manufacturer make about this product?

3. Critically analyze the product and how it is advertised. Does the manufacture claim that there was a study conducted? What were the results, was a control group used, etc. Find at least one scientific article that looks at the claims made. Summarize what the article discussed. Would you buy this product based on your research?
