Imagine you are a criminal justice or security professional assigned to the crime scene unit investigating the house fire from the Wk 1 Hypothesis: Criminal Investigation. You are responsible for documenting the scene and collecting evidence for later analysis in the crime lab. Your superior has tasked you with creating a presentation to demonstrate what, how, and why key evidence items will be collected for discovery in court.

Assignment Preparation

Use the initial crime scene hypothesis from the house fire you created in Week 1 as the start to your evidence collection.

Assignment Deliverable

Create an 8- to 10-slide presentation in which you propose what forensic evidence needs to be collected and analyzed in your investigation. For additional guidance on organizing and delivering presentations, refer to Oral Presentation Structure.

Include the following in your presentation:

Describe where the collection search will take place.
Identify all team members present at the scene and their functions.
Explain the types of evidence that may be found in conjunction with the case.
Describe the scene (observations) and refine your hypothesis for the crime.
Outline the types of methodologies applied to forensic analysis that might be utilized to test the predictions from your hypothesis.
Identify the key evidence items and the types of forensic analysis that might be assigned to each.

Include a title slide, a reference slide, and detailed speaker notes of at least 50 words per slide. Note: These slides do not contribute to the overall slide count.

Cite at least 2 peer-reviewed, scholarly, or similar references. Format your citations and references according to APA guidelines.
