1) On verbal arguments

What examples stand out as clearly being disagreements that are merely verbal? That is, what are some great debates that you presently see which seem to be due to nothing more than people using different definitions for the same term?

2). On misleading statistical claims

Consider some points that indicate how arguments that make use of statistical reasoning can be deceptive and also effective "even though they fall short of being outright lies".

What are examples you've seen from advertising, politics, sports, or wherever that go along with this point? Remember, to try and go beyond the non-stop political polls all of us are being swamped with right now.
