What do you think of when you think of research? What does it mean to be a scholar-practitioner? What is social change? How is research related to these two concepts?
Think about your area of interest. Note: You will use this area of interest throughout the course, so please select the general topic area you plan on studying for your thesis or dissertation. You will be asked to describe your area of interest briefly at the beginning of almost every Discussion response in order to provide context for your answers.
Consider how conducting research in your area of interest can contribute to your effectiveness as a scholar-practitioner who effects social change.
With these thoughts in mind, and using your best scholarly writing:
Post by Day 4 a brief (1–3 sentences) description of your area of interest, then explain how conducting research in this area can contribute to you being a scholar-practitioner who effects social change. To conclude your post, explain how you see research, in general, as a life skill.
