Problem
Have a conversation with one of the oldest members of your family. This conversation may take place over the telephone. If that is not possible, locate an elder outside of your family but from within your own ethnic or cultural group. (Remember that every one of us has at least one ethnic heritage.) During your conversation, ask these questions, or ones similar, and note the answers:
1) What is the importance of family for you? How does family give you support and how do you support them?
2) What is the importance of community for you? In what ways are you connected to your own ethnic community?
3) What did your parents teach you about staying healthy? What health practices have you continued to use as an adult that you learned from family? Get the instant assignment help.
4) Which cultural traditions and/or beliefs are important to you?
5) What role does religion or spirituality play within your ethnic group?
6) What are your traditions and/or beliefs around death, funerals, and mourning? What, if any, are the challenges for you as you grow older, in terms of your ethnic heritage?
