Question: We will use data from the General Social Survey (GSS) to complete our analyses this semester. The GSS is a large dataset with data collected every two years from a survey of American adults. The survey collects data about Americans' attitudes about many social issues and behavioral data about many topics. You will need to select a research question that is feasible using The GSS dataset. You can review the possible topics by exploring the key trends presented by GSS Data Explorer.

Answer the following questions to propose a research question (bullet points are fine for your document):

What is the topic you are interested in studying?
What concepts or variables will you explore? (You should have two).
Write a feasible, sociological research question that you could analyze in a research project using the GSS dataset.
What theoretical paradigm can you use to frame your thinking on this research question? Write a sentence or two using your chosen paradigm to explain your research question.

Structural Functionalism: society is seen as a complicated system whose structures and pieces work together to promote stability
The Conflict Paradigm: society comprises groups with competing interests that compete for scarce resources like power and status, money, and material goods like food.

Interactionism: undertands society as the product of everyday social interactions; specifically, the shared reality that people create through their interactions.
