Many that can’t sleep take a seemingly harmless sleeping pill. More often people try to get an energy boost from coffee, soda, energy drinks, and supplements to get through the day. Some turn to alcohol, valium, or other depressants. Many seem to be addicted to caffeine these days, especially in the form of coffee. My town seems to have a Starbucks everywhere I turn. Also, physicians prescribe various medications for altering one's state of consciousness all the time. We can find various products for increasing energy, falling asleep, and calming our emotions in our supermarket, in the mall, and in our local pharmacy.
