There are 2 female black cats ( kiki & kitty) and one white male cat (boots). When kiki and boots are mated, all 7 offspring are black. However, when kitty and boots are mated, 3 of the offspring are white & 2 are black.

a) Using genetic symbols indicating which coat color is dominant and which one is recessive, explain the inheritance of coat color in the cats (indicate # of genes & # of alleles that control the phenotype).

b) What are the genotypes of all three original cats?

Please explain throughly, I want to be able to understand. I think I have to do the punnet square - I was trying but the punnet square only gives me 4 offspring, and the question says that 7 offspring are produced and then 5 offspring. I do not know how to produced larger numbers of offspring with the punnet square. Please help
