Case Study: After reading chapter 17 in your text, read and discuss the following case. Cindy is a 70 year old woman who was recently hospitalized after having a stroke. She presents in your clinic. She has been prescribed warfarin -- a blood thinning medication and is on a regular diet. Cindy's doctor wants her to continue her other medications, which include a diuretic medication, a low dose daily aspirin, and pravastatin -- her cholesterol medication. When at home, Cindy and her husband consume a varied diet. Their dinners typically include a protein source, starch, and a vegetable. They eat oranges or grapefruits most mornings and have a mixed green salad with dinner several nights a week. Cindy is curious and asks you if her new medication will require her to make any changes in her diet when she goes home.
