You will turn in a reflective piece about the factors outside of your control that might have influenced your life both then and now based on material presented in chapters 2 and 3.

Chapter 2 Topics you might want to cover if they apply to you: Genetics, chromosomal abnormalities, birth order (or twin), recessive and dominant traits. About mom's pregnancy- Did she have a normal pregnancy or was it considered risky? Tests ran on mother, if any, adoption, the family you were born into, socioeconomic status, neighborhood/living situation, extended family, school, religion, traditions, expectations/values of said culture, and gene-environment interactions. Address those that apply to you and how they present themselves today.

Chapter 3 Topics: Who are your parents, their ages, whether you were planned or not, teen pregnancy, was mom on birth control? Mom's mental health during pregnancy, did mom get prenatal care? How far along was mom when she found out? Exposure to teratogens, drugs, alcohol, tobacco (exposure or ingestion of substances), infectious disease, nutrition or lack thereof, stress, was mom working? Type of birth, complications, were you born at term? low birth weight, breathing complications, NICU, did mom take labor meds? Stories of your first days, if any. Were you a 'good' baby? (I do not like this term). Senses, connection, touch. Did your mom know about skin-to-skin? Address those that apply to you and how they present themselves today.
