The most surprising thing that I learned this week is how simple Placozoans are. I have not studied them much and it was very intriguing to learn about how they move and reproduce when they're just blobs of cells floating in water. One thing that is still confusing to me is why the phylogenetic algorithms can come to two separate answers for the sister taxa of animals.
