Interpreting Graphs: We often use graphs of recent data to project the changes in future data. The following is the graph of a car's value. The car was bought for $20000. Each year, the cars value decreases $2800. we can use this to project what the worth of the car will be if we ever decide to sell it.
A. Write a formula to model the car's value, where "y" is the value of the car and "x" is the number of years.
B. Find the value of the car algebraic after five years. does this match the graph above?
C. What is an appropriate label for each axis? Y axis: X axis:
D. Estimate the x and y intercepts and state what each one means in relation to the value of the car. Y intercept: x intercept:
Prove the arithmetic-geometric mean inequality by using an elementary method (no use of calculus, derivative or limit), that is,
Solve the following.
Write two equations that have your two integers as solutions. Show how you built the equations using your integers. Solve your system of equations by the addition/subtraction method. Make sure you show the necessary 5 steps.
Veronica''s family ordered 2 pizzas that cost $13.75 each and 2 pitchers of soda that cost $3.95 each. The total cost included a sales tax of 5.5%. They left 20% of the total cost for a tip. How much did Veronica''s family pay altogether?
Solve the following exponential equation.
Exhibit the vertex and y-intercept for the quadratic expression y = x^2 - 4. How many zeros does this expression have? Exhibit those ordered pairs which constitute these zeros.
In an exponential smoothing model, if the smoothing constant (alpha) were equal to 0, then. The forecast would never change.
Calculating the amount of compound interest.
Solving equation by using arithmetic operations.
Calculate the maximum or minimum value.
Solve the quadratic equation using any of the techniques learned in this unit. The solution(s) will be one of the dimensions; use step 2 to find the other.
