There are 2 videos to see.
Video 1 : https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=wJyUtbn0O5Y shows actin polymerizing. The cell seems very empty, and somehow the actin molecules seem to know to run right where they are needed. Really, a cell is crowded with water and proteins and everything is "jiggling" due to being inside a fluid of jiggling water molecules thermal motion.
The actual motion looks more like video 2:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=uHeTQLNFTgU
Each video has its advantages. The first is clearer, the second more realistic.
QUESTIONS:
(a) Which aspects of the motion of proteins in cells does the second video capture more realistically?
(b) Are any aspects of biological phenomena (or physical processes) captured better in the first video? If so why, if not why not?
q1. in a sure type of insects individuals can produce bodies that either have or do not have structures called wings.
Which strand of DNA is transcribed and in which direction? Show your reasoning.
In D. Melanogaster cherub wings(ch), black body (b) and cinnabar eyes (cn) result from recessive alleles tht are all located on chromosome 2. A homozygous wild-type fly was mated with a cherub, black, and cinnabar fly.
define Why do we use 16s rDNA for sequencing
A diploid plant has a nuclear gene, named Yellow (Y) required for photosynthesis. When the Y gene is mutated, the mutants cannot photosynthesis and are yellow. The WT allele Y is dominant to the mutant allele (y).
Draw a dichotomous key to use in the identification of your unknown. Our strains will be grown on solid media, so cell arrangement will probably not be diagnostic.Notice that the objective is to use the tests .
What is nondisjunction? In what type of reproductive cells in this most likely to happen? Name three chromosomal aberrations which can result fro this phenomenon.
Calculate the hydraulic gradient between two wells that are 400 feet apart. One well is at an elevation of 150 feet above sea-level (ground surface) and the depth to the water table is 10 feet. The second well is at 130 feet above sea-level and th..
Determine when a blood vessel bifurcates into two smaller vessels, the radii of the two smaller vessels add up to a larger cumulative radius than the radius of the original vessel.
What are the impacts of maternal milk and weaning weight EPDs onthe performance of a bulls grandcalves also Why is some emphasis on scrotal circumference important in many breeds?
On an autosome, genes A and B are twenty map units apart. An AABB male mates with an aabb female. What % of the gametes produced by their hybrid offspring will be Ab?
Assume you hypothesize that an animal with a mutation that affects conversion of the b form of glycogen synthase to the a form could not produce glycogen at functional levels.
