We have learnt the linear version of the impulse-momentum theorem.

i) Write down the angular version of the impulse-momentum theorem.

ii) Using the relationship between angular impulse and linear impulse, solve this problem: A uniform rod of mass m and length l, initially at rest, is struck with a hammer. The blow is made perpendicular to the rod at one end. Assume that the blow occurs quickly so that the rod doesn't move while the hammer is in contact.

If the CM of the rod ends up moving at speed v, what are the velocities of the ends right after the blow?
