Question

Ameerah and Rachel have order a delivery of a MacBru Nasi Katok, with fries, together with MacDonald's Vegetarian Burger. Ameerah enjoyed her Nasi Kotok and fries greatly, but thought both dishes were too salty. Rachel felt very unwell after eating her Vegetarian Burger. She noticed what she thought were little granules of meat in her Vegetarian Burger. Having ordered a second Vegetarian Burger from MacDonald's at, the One, Rachel has discovered that the granules are soya, but flavoured with Beef Stock Cubes. It has since been reported in the Borneo Bulletin that MacDonalds at the One have been ordered to remove their stock of Beef Stick Cubes, which have been discovered to be non-halal. She has accordingly issued a complaint to MacDonald's at the One about this, and having attempted to claim the reward Rachel is told by MacDonald's staff that the offer of a reward is merely an Invitation to Treat and is not binding upon MacDonald's at the One. Ameerah has similarly sought to claim the reward for her salty Nasi Kotok and fries. Unfortunately she has received the same reply. Using Statutes, Case Law and applicable legal theory, advise Rachel and Ameerah upon whether they have a contractual right to claim the reward, and/or, grounds to institute a legal action against MacDonald's for Misrepresentation.
